    Description

For centuries a small village of Chałupki near Morawica provided extensive surroundings with clay ware, such as dishes and pots. The process lasted from the prehistorical times until the end of the 20th century. Since 1998 The Centre of Pottery Tradition has been active. It functions in a preserved workshop of one of the local potters, whose son Józef Głuszek is a conservator and a guide of the Centre. The workshop has authentic equipment for clay preparing and mixing, throwing dishes on the potter’s wheel, and for drying, glazing and decorating. There is an old two-chamber kiln prepared for firing in the central place. While visiting the centre and the exhibition, one may also see exhibit items made by the old local masters. A school of pottery and workshops are active there.
