Description
![](/data/image/co_zobaczyc/zabytki/muzea/kielce_muzuem_lskstz.jpg)
Stefan Żeromski was particularly connected with the Kielce region. He was born in Strawczyn, near Kielce, spent his childhood in Ciekoty, lived in Kielce and studied at the local grammar-school. Today, the building houses the Museum of Stefan Żeromski’s School Years, which exhibits some family souvenirs, items connected with school and studies, pictures of the writer’s family members, friends and sweethearts as well as the first editions of his works. The Âwi´tokrzyska land is present in nearly all works of Stefan Żeromski. Many of them are set in Kielce. One can find some descriptions of the local landscape
and the town itself in “The Labours of Sysiphus”, “A Story of Sin”, “Homeless People” and “The Fir Forest”.
