    The earliest records about its trading activities date back to 1084 – it"s also the date of the construction of St Adalbert"s church. At the turn of the 11th century, Kielce and the Łysa Góra estate were already in hands of the Cracovian bishops. Kielce received its city rights in 1295, although some sources mention the year 1360 and bishop Bodzanta.

    The palace belonged to the Cracovian bishops who owned large estates in the Świętokrzyski region. The residence founded by bishop Jakub Zadzik (1582-1642) was erected on the Cathedral Hill. It is considered to be the best-preserved architectural construction in Poland from the Vasa dynasty times.

    The seat of the National Museum in Kielce is a palace, which once belonged to Cracow Bishops. The Cracow Bishops’ palace was founded by Jakub Zadzik in the years 1637–1641.

    Description

    The exhibition presents paintings of Marian Czapla - artst famous in Poland and in the USA. In the difficult Postmodernism reality he has developed his own style of the modern art based on strong colurs and sensual figures. Marian Czapla is graduated from Kielce Artistic High School therefore he feels connected with the place of his artistic maturation.
